Ratna Tamang, the matriarch at Horizon Bardu Valley Tea, our tea garden in Nepal, planted 22 tea bushes about 35 years ago. She cared for and loved these tea bushes until her passing May 15, 2021. In memory of this great lady, we are releasing this very limited and very special tea made from these very same tea bushes. Buddha, Ratna’s devoted son and our partner, carefully plucked two leaves and a bud from Ratna’s tea bushes and then made this tea by his own hand. The smooth pale yellow liquor starts with smooth vegetal notes and a hint of rhubarb which is followed by a sweetness. A sweetness, that we feel has come from Ratna’s hands and her tea bushes to heal our hearts that miss her each and everyday.
